CMS recently published the 2017 Fee Schedule Final Rules. Within the lengthy documents, you’ll find that there have been multiple changes made to payment systems and models. And, there are many interim rules, regulations and reimbursement determinations yet to be made.

Compliance concerns have increased as a result of varying areas of change in the payment systems, use of new codes and modifiers and places of service. You will need to be extra diligent in your compliance efforts.

Despite its length and how time-consuming we know it can be to read the documents cover-to-cover, it’s more important than ever to read both the 2017 OPPS and MPFS proposed and final rules. However, I’ve taken the liberty to simplify the documents, covering the most important aspects for you, until you have a chance to take it all in.
