I get it, being a compliance officer doesn’t sound all that thrilling to the general public. When I explain what I do to new friends, their expressions glaze over as they struggle to suppress their yawns. Yet, as far as I’m concerned, my job is amazing.
I didn’t dream of being a compliance officer when I was a kid. I just kind of fell into it after medical school. And, I’m so glad that I did. It’s a fast-growing industry with potential for days. Plus, it’s fun. Forbes listed Compliance Officer as number 2 for “least stressful jobs” while U.S. News considers it one of the “5 Hot Jobs for MBA Graduates.” I couldn’t have fallen into a better career. Every day I go to work excited, happy and eager, because I know that there will always be something new and exciting waiting for me. I love it, and I can honestly say that, for me, it’s the best job in the world.
