The Misadventures of Ada: "Selfies," ICD-10 Cartoon Y93.C2

Cell phones, cell phones, we love them and love to hate them.

They interrupt dinners, hijack our teenager’s brains and keep us eternally zoned into our screens. However, they’re useful and allow us to do things we’d never dreamed of before like work almost anywhere, check on our friends or families, and document important moments of our lives. Click, click, click.

Camera phones are life-changing. Remember back when we had to carry around a Kodak and just hope that we got a decent picture or two from our once-in-a-lifetime vacation? Now, we can stand on the Great Wall of China while documenting the entire experience on social media in real time, while friends watch our experience at home.

We can take photos and selfies everywhere, while on a roller coaster, on a plane, on a train, or in space. But if you’re Ada, taking a picture can be downright dangerous. Especially if it’s on top of a double-decker tour bus in Time Square.
