The Misadventures of Ada: ICD-10 Cartoon, "The House of Horrors" F41.9

Salem, Massachusets–October, 31st, 2018, a woman, Ada, was nearly scared to death at the old Jefferson Plantation on Halloween night. About a decade ago, after an unsuccessful attempt to put the allegedly “haunted home,” on the market, it was converted into the House of Horrors haunted mansion. Every year actors from all over Massachusets dress up and fill the mansion to give visitors a little scare for the holiday. However, there have been rumors that this is more than just a regular haunted house.

“It’s actually haunted.” Said Bethany Mayor, an actress who played Witch Number Three this season. “Sometimes we could hear voices and we’d see things that weren’t really there. Even the sound effects people would hear things and get freaked out. I’m not surprised that someone got so scared, honestly.”

The woman, Ada, who suffered a severe anxiety attack at the haunted house is now in stable condition although it took some time for the paramedics to get her heart rate down. She was found breathing heavily by the pumpkin patch by a friend after running panic-stricken and screaming from the mansion. We spoke to her friend who said he’d never seen her so freaked out, “Ada is a ton of fun and we often celebrate Halloween together. I’ve never seen her so upset. As soon as that Zombie popped out she just took off. When I found her, she was shaking next to some pumpkins and when I couldn’t calm her down I called the paramedics. All it took was a little rest and some mindfulness meditation though, and she’s as good as new.”

Ada couldn’t be reached for comment but we’d like to end this story with a careful reminder: Be careful out there, friends, during this spooky time of year.
