The Misadventures of Ada: ICD-10 Cartoon, "The Toxic Frog Prince" T63.813A

It was a beautiful night, so Ada decided to skip her favorite T.V. show to go for a long walk instead. She went to her favorite spot, a pond on the edge of a forest near her house. The stars were shining, a light breeze blew and crickets chirped. How romantic, she thought. On the edge of the pond, she spotted a frog on a stone. He looked right at her and seemed to speak to her, “Ribbet! Ribbet!” He said. Despite being a fairly logical person, she couldn’t help but wonder if the fairy tales were true. Could he be a prince?

Ada took a deep breath and made sure nobody was looking before she gently lifted the frog from the lily pad. She stared at him for a minute before puckering up and giving him a big kiss on top of his head. “Ribbet?” He said. But Ada couldn’t help to notice that he looked a bit surprised.

For a moment nothing happened. The frog hung in her hands, the crickets continued their song, and a dog barked in the distance. Ada blinked, and the next thing she knew the world turned to technicolor and a prince was holding her in his arms, leaning over her with hearts in his eyes. “Ma’am?” He said. Ada swooned.

At least, that’s what Ada thought she saw while unconscious in the hospital. Turns out, she kissed a toxic frog. Sweet dreams, Ada.
