The CMS Proposed Rule 2021 for E/M, Telehealth and Teaching Physicians.
Recently, the Office of the Federal Register (OFR) released CMS’s 2021 Proposed Rule. It’s a massive document, coming in at a whopping 1,353 pages, which we highly recommend you take the time to review. Especially in any areas that could meaningfully impact your practice.
But at that page count, and atop all of the other projects currently on our plate, we know it’s a lot to ask.
That’s why every year we look to the proposed rule to see what changes will impact our coding, auditing, compliance, or billing responsibilities when the new year begins. After combing through all (yes, all) of the 2021 Proposed Rule changes, we then distilled some of the most relevant sections down for you into digestible and actionable content in our new eGuide, “Highlights from the CMS 2021 Proposed Physician Fee Schedule Rules.” Inside, we covered the topics of Evaluation & Management, Telehealth, and the Teaching Physician Rules to enable you to:
- Transition to the New E/M Framework
- Adapt to the Permanent and Temporary Telehealth Service Proposals
- Understand the Interim Teaching Physician Rules Policies
