Happy Thanksgiving, 2020!
With the 2020 holiday season now upon us, this year’s Thanksgiving is bound to look a little different than in years past for all of us. For Ada, her plans consisted of hosting her small circle of friends at home, while inviting others to join remotely via a Zoom party.
As her mom, dad, sister and brother logged in, each of their excitement was palpable. It had, after all, been months since they’d seen each other. Once the “hellos” were said and the toasts were made, Ada went back to put the finishing touches on her sides of cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and yams. Then, the oven beeped, letting her know that finally, after hours of preparation and cooking, the turkey was finally done. As she raced to the kitchen, and back to the table to show it off, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself.
This being Ada, her excitement spelled trouble for the evening’s impending celebration…
