The Misadventures of Ada:
Wild Foraging T62.1X1A

Picking up her new book, “Wild Foraging,” Ada heads out into the forest near her home in search of some delicious Chokeberries for a pie recipe she’s just dying to make for her friends and family. She’s elated when she spots a bush and, after snacking on a few dozen, picks heaps for her pie.

At home, she washes the berries and puts them in the crust she prepared the day before while her friends cook sweet potatoes and gravy, among other dishes, for their annual Thanksgiving/Gratitude Feast. When the pie finishes in the oven, it’s a nice golden color, the opposite of Ada, who is becoming pale. And tingly. Why is her throat so itchy?

“Are you okay?” Her friend asks, concerned. She nods that she’s just fine, in between hacking like she has a log stuck in her throat. “AAAACK.” Then her breathing gets a little heavy, the room goes black, and she crumples to the floor like a bag of potatoes.

“Hello, 911?” One of her guests says into his phone, panicked, “I think my friend might have eaten some poisonous berries.” Oh, Ada.

Here at Healthicity, we are grateful for Ada and all of you! Happy holidays!
