Customizing Pass Rate Thresholds for Your Org

Pass rate thresholds are pretty important. They define the acceptable accuracy rate by which a provider or coder passes or fails their coding audit. But despite the fact that pass rates help set a performance standard that organizations can use to measure and monitor compliance, only 66% of organizations conducting formal coding and documentation audits utilize pass rates.

There’s no federally sanctioned threshold of accuracy below 100 percent. But as auditors, we know that all things at 100% are not equal. So when you’re setting pass rate thresholds, it’s important to understand how to measure your audits and the impact pass rates will have on your organization.

Tune into my upcoming webinar, How to Define Your E/M Pass Rate Thresholds, to learn more about pass rate thresholds and how results are reviewed, industry leaders define their pass rate thresholds, to set pass rates for your organization, and how different methods are used to measure accuracy rates.
