Check your email, folks, because Phase Two of OCR’s HIPAA audit program has begun and selected covered entities received notification letters, yesterday, Monday, July 11, 2016.
OCR is verifying your organization’s contact information via email, to identify and determine which covered entities and business associates should be included in potential auditee pools. Did your organization receive a letter? No?
Check your spam folders. The OCR warns that “I didn’t see it” won’t get your organization off the hook. Also, not responding to the communication won’t prevent your organization from being selected, either.
