Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital Transforms Incident Management with Healthicity’s Compliance Manager

Faster Closures, Fewer Errors, and Hours Saved Every Year

Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital delivers specialized post-acute care for children with medical complexity, supporting patients who are medically stable but not yet ready to go home. With 500 employees, the organization relies on seamless coordination, accurate reporting, and a strong culture of safety to ensure every child receives the highest quality care.

But when their previous incident reporting system began to hinder their strategy, Ranken Jordan knew something had to change. Cumbersome data entry, rigid templates, and an inability to export data left leaders without visibility into trends, root causes, or opportunities for improvement.

By expanding their existing use of Healthicity’s Compliance Manager into Incident Management, Ranken Jordan rebuilt the process from the ground up—giving staff an easier experience, leadership clear analytics, and the organization a more efficient, insight-driven approach to patient safety.

The Challenge

Ranken Jordan’s previous incident reporting system was so restrictive that teams couldn’t export data for analysis or cross-system linkage. Frontline staff struggled with confusing templates and unclear categories, leading to frequent mis-categorization and more than 40 hours per year spent on re-entry.

The Solution

The hospital expanded its use of Healthicity’s Compliance Manager to create a unified “front door” for policies, sanctions, and incident reporting. Custom templates, embedded guidance, and a hospital-specific taxonomy simplified data entry, reduced confusion, and gave staff the confidence to report accurately the first time. Most importantly, data could finally be exported—unlocking analytics, root cause analysis, and longitudinal trending for continuous improvement.

The Results

  • ~300 incidents filed within the first 2.5 monthsdemonstrating strong culture adoption and high engagement

  • Event investigations typically close within one week vs. weeks or months previously

  • Streamlined templates reduced confusion and improved accuracy on first submission

  • 40+ hours per year saved by virtually eliminating mis-categorization and re-entry

  • Leadership now uses robust reporting, line listings, and exports to track trends and present data to committees

  • Linking related incidents accelerates investigations and helps uncover system-wide root causes

| Support was incredible. The Healthicity Team went out of their way to solve problems or give us options of how to create what we needed. It was a really smooth process.”  |
