CPT® 2026: The Updates That Will Shape Coding and Auditing Next Year

Each year, CPT^® updates bring shifts that ripple across coding, auditing, and revenue integrity teams—and 2026 is no exception. This year’s changes highlight ongoing expansion in virtual care, refinements in surgical reporting, and the continued evolution of immunization coding. 

Among the notable updates are new codes for remote physiologic monitoring (RPM), reflecting deeper integration of digital and remote care models. Coders will also see several new vascular procedure codes, introduced to better capture emerging clinical techniques. And with continuing public health needs, new immunization codes have been added to ensure accurate reporting and reimbursement.
