What Questions Do Auditors and Coders Have for 2021?

Over the years, we’ve answered hundreds, if not thousands, or questions from the Healthicity community, covering anything from recent telehealth topics (Can you bill an E/M if it is a telephone-only visit?) to pressing questions on critical care coding (Is there any scenario where an E/M code and a critical care code can both be reported on the same date?)

In fact, we’ve written more than a dozen blog posts, and produced podcasts in an effort to answer the overflow of questions we receive each day.

While we love helping our community find answers that encourage organizational compliance, the truth is, we don’t always have the time to answer each and every one of them.

As you might imagine, during the national public health emergency, the amount of questions we’ve received only continues to tick ever higher. Add to that, we’ve got the 2021 E/M changes right around the corner, the potential end (or extension) of 1135 waivers, and the continual guidance updates from CMS. Boy, there’s a lot to keep track of.

So, me and my team decided we’d carve out some time during this time of uncertainty and provide you with some clarity, peace-of-mind and, yes, certainty for the year ahead.

That’s why on December 17, at 1 PM ET, I’ll be hosting an hour-long presentation, “Ask An Auditor Anything: A Live Webinar,” to answer the questions you're facing, and provide you with a roadmap for tackling the challenges you’ll face  in 2021. Along with me, I’ll have some awesome team members to help you, including:

  • Charla Prillaman, CPC, CPC-I, CCC, CEMC, CPMA, CPCO, Regional Vice President, AAPC Audit Services
  • Elizabeth Hylton, CPC, CPMC, Regional Director, AAPC Audit Services

And finally, be sure to submit your questions while you’re registering! We’ll start with a few of the pre-submitted questions before we move onto the live Question and Answer part of the presentation. We hope to see you there!
