Ada couldn’t help but jump at the chance to watch a World Cup game. Her boss wouldn’t miss her for one day, right? What’s the harm in calling out sick for just one afternoon?
The electric atmosphere, the sights, the sounds – it was intoxicating even for a non-soccer fan. Ada found her seat next to enthusiastic spectators, riveted by every whistle, every kick down the field.
Suddenly, she heard the subtle swish of the ball hitting the net. Ada just witnessed a World Cup goal!
The cheering! The music! The team spirit overpowers her, and just like that, she’s down.
