The Misadventures of Ada: ICD-10 Cartoon, "Activities Involving Arts and Crafts" Y93.D

What better way to spend time with the family than crafting your heart out? At least, that’s what Ada thought on Thanksgiving afternoon when she sat down with her niece and nephew to make turkey masks to wear at dinner. They labored over construction paper and laughed together.

A few hours later, after they’d made their way through half a bottle of glue, a pound of glitter and their hands ached from cutting out feathers, they were finally ready to try on their masks. “You both look so good!” Ada said, lovingly. The children grinned, proudly, and told her that she looked great, too. Then Ada tried to take off her mask but it wouldn’t budge. A bolt of anxiety hit Ada as she realized her mask was stuck and she panicked. She didn’t want to live out the rest of her days as a turkey, or worse, as a woman trying to be a turkey. I have to get this thing off!

Frantic, she stood up and tugged at the mask, stumbled, and tumbled over a recliner. “Mooom, call 911! Aunt Ada had an arts and crafts accident!” Hopefully, Ada will be patched up in time for pie.
