The Misadventures of Ada: ICD-10 Cartoon, "Dancing Class" Y93.41

Ada just needed to get away. So she packed her suitcase and headed to a gorgeous mountain retreat owned by one of her father’s old friends. She planned to spend the weekend taking little hikes in the hills, attending random retreat events and lounging by the pool. But when she joined in on the nightly dancing under the stars, everything changed.

Ada watched couples dance in the moonlight under a gazebo when she spotted a handsome man.

“Who is that?” She asked a perfect stranger next to her.

“That’s my cousin,” he said, “he’s a dance instructor here.”

Ada knew she needed to get to know him better. There was just something special about him. So the next morning, Ada awoke early in the morning and rushed down to the dance studio to sign up for private instructions.

On their first lesson, they started out with the Cha-Cha but Ada had never danced before and things didn’t go so well. “Hold your frame!” the instructor repeated to an increasingly frustrated Ada. Over the course of the weekend though, Ada fell for the instructor because he was kind, and he fell for her, too, because she was optimistic and brave. Then, in typical Ada fashion, she just fell.

“Nobody puts my baby in an ambulance.”
