Like many of us, Ada just wanted to have a lovely quiet evening at home, wrapping presents and relaxing with her favorite holiday show.
She selected her favorite wrapping paper, a lovely tree print on brown Kraft, made herself a cozy spot on the floor, put on her favorite movie, and began cutting a beautiful square for the popcorn maker she bought for her favorite co-worker, Janice.
Slice, the brand new scissors went through the paper like butter. And then, from outside, there was a burst of ear-piercing noise, carolers scream-singing Jingle Bells with glass shattering enthusiasm. Ada jumped a solid foot in the air, felt a sting, and looked down to see blood swelling out of a fresh cut on her hand.
“OOOOOOOOOOUCH!” Ada yelled. She hopped to the front door, flung it open.
“Heeeeeeelp!”
She ran outside in a panic, terrifying the singing group and getting blood splatter on her new doormat. Sigh. Not a quiet night at all. Poor Ada!
Falalalalalalalala! Happy holidays, everyone!
