Compliance never takes a break – not even on National Compliance Officer Day. As Carl approached the cake he requested for the occasion, he couldn't help but feel a sense of duty, a commitment to upholding justice, even in the sweetest of moments. Carl wanted to make sure there were no non-compliant slices – bigger vs. smaller slices, pieces with more frosting than others, etc. The baker, of course, thought he'd gone a bit "off the icing," but Carl remained sturdy in his commitment to cake excellence.
While some might think Carl was being a little too detail-focused, he just wanted to make sure his colleagues could share in equal enjoyment of this afternoon treat. In the end, the cake was devoured, not in equal parts, but in fits of laughter and camaraderie.
And on that note, we want to wish all compliance officers a very happy National Compliance Officer Day!
